The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers for the community.

SASSA will be rendering companies including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency claimed it is actually alarmed with regards to the high number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a significant number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office dedicated to service the area every day. The service point made for intervention activities a large influx of probable beneficiaries, which makes it difficult with the office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more resources to enable the servicing of all customers click here and maximize use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
